Beautifully written. It's crazy because I specifically wrote about respect being reciprocal, something I learned from my son. He showed me how, "Respect your elders" is not acceptable when the elder is being disrespectful. It is okay, and healthy, to stand up for oneself, no matter the age, gender, the time or place. Human to human..."respect is reciprocal". Lovely.💖

It’s exactly that for me.There’s a shift that happens in your 50s—you stop asking for respect and start demanding it. I’ve reached the no nonsense milestone.

Being a woman is hard as in damn hard. I keep a very straight face in public. There was this time, I went to an office and this man wanted to get his way with me. I wasn’t interested. My face wouldn't even allow him make a joke successfully. I didn't smile, after trying everything he asked me why I was angry. I told him I wasn't and being happy ≠ smiling. Being happy means being content with your life at the moment. He just shut up and hurried with my documents. Being a woman you have to proof yourself everyday even with slightest things that require common sense Jesus😪
